- Abstract
The abuse of air guns is becoming increasingly prevalent in society. Air guns, originally intended for shooting sports, are often misused as tools of intimidation, leading to violent crimes that threaten public safety. The method used in this research is normative juridical. The results indicate a specific legal gap in the Criminal Code and regulations regarding firearms, creating legal loopholes that are often exploited by perpetrators. The abuse of air guns not only has physical impacts but also triggers horizontal conflict in society, such as fear, and violates the right to a sense of security, a fundamental human right. Therefore, stronger regulations and stricter oversight of the circulation of air guns are needed to reduce the potential for social conflict and uphold humanitarian values.
