- Abstract
This project aims to investigate how technopreneurship can foster a more inclusive digital economy, particularly within the higher education sector of rural Indonesia. With the increasing discourse surrounding the digital economy, technology-driven start-ups are playing a pivotal role in enhancing access to financial, educational, and health solutions in underserved communities, particularly within the fintech, edutech, and healthtech sectors. Despite the considerable progress achieved, substantial challenges like infrastructure and digital literacy continue to present significant barriers to enhanced digital inclusion. The investigation emphasizes the necessity for collaboration among governmental bodies, the private sector, and technology innovators to bridge the digital divide, fostering a more cohesive ecosystem. Summary A mixed-methods study reveals that technopreneurship holds significant promise as a key contributor to economic well-being in marginal, remote, and peripheral regions, while simultaneously fostering the digital economy inclusively and responsibly.
