Abstract

This study examines the various monetization strategies employed by Generation Z creative entrepreneurs who utilize social media platforms as their principal means of generating digital revenue. This research utilizes qualitative methodology, specifically in-depth interviews with selected Gen Z creativepreneurs who are actively monetizing their TikTok content, to investigate the mechanisms that contribute to their financial success within the digital creator economy. The findings indicate that successful monetization among Gen Z content creators is derived from three essential factors: advanced content creation skills that resonate with target audiences, strategic audience engagement methods that promote community development, and strong personal branding strategies that cultivate credibility and trust. The research delineates various revenue streams employed by these digital entrepreneurs, encompassing brand collaborations, affiliate marketing, merchandise sales, live streaming monetization, and platform-specific creator funds. However, the study also finds that these young entrepreneurs face big problems, such as algorithmic volatility that affects how visible their content is, the constant pressure to stay relevant in a world of quickly changing digital trends, and the fact that they rely on the rules of other platforms, which can have a big effect on their earnings. The research shows that successful Gen Z creativepreneurs stand out because they can combine creative storytelling with a deep understanding of platforms and build real, long-lasting relationships with their communities. These findings contribute valuable insights for digital marketing practitioners, academic researchers studying the creator economy, and policymakers developing frameworks for supporting young entrepreneurs in the evolving digital landscape shaped by the next generation of innovative content creators.
