- Abstract
This research looked at how land use changed in Gedebage, Bandung, from 2017 to 2024 using satellite pictures from Esri Land Cover and Google Earth, which were then processed using ArcGIS. The results showed a similar pattern in both sets of information, where farmland decreased a lot while built-up areas increased a lot, showing quick city growth and land being changed for houses and infrastructure. Other types of land cover, like water and plants, increased a little, while shrubs varied between the data sets because of differences in how they were classified and how clear the images were. Overall, these findings confirm that Gedebage has changed a lot in terms of its spatial makeup, moving from an agricultural area to a very urban one. These results highlight how important it is to have sustainable spatial planning and environmental management policies to lessen the negative effects of land conversion, especially the loss of productive land and green spaces.
