Abstract

This research was designed based on an analysis of the integration of ChatGPT in the development of DELF A2 French grammar materials. The background of this research is the need for French language learning that is more interactive, modern, effective, and adaptive in accordance with the DELF A2 standard. However, there are still many limitations in French language learning, namely learning that is still very passive and the lack of student involvement in exploring artificial intelligence technologies such as ChatGPT. ChatGPT was chosen because of its ability to generate quick, appropriate, and flexible responses to every question asked by students or questioners and its ability to adjust answers according to the commands given. The research method used was qualitative descriptive research with a case study approach because the process of answering research questions regarding the integration of ChatGPT artificial intelligence in the development of the DELF A2 grammar course was carried out through field observation, interviews, and document analysis. The research findings indicate that the integration of ChatGPT can enhance understanding of French grammar for the DELF A2 level, expand the variety of practice questions and appropriate answers, provide a more personalised learning experience, and support the development of students’ technological skills. Additionally, ChatGPT can be used anytime and anywhere. Therefore, the research on the integration of ChatGPT artificial intelligence in the development of the DELF A2 grammar course demonstrates its effectiveness and potential for further application in language education.
