Abstract

Traditional evaluation methods for the “Automobile Construction” practical course often suffer from limited dimensions, subjective weighting, and delayed feedback. To address these problems, this study proposes a five-dimensional competency evaluation model grounded in the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework. The model integrates course objectives with industry requirements, incorporating dimensions of professional skills, innovative ability, team collaboration, problem-solving, and professional ethics. Methodologically, it combines the Delphi method and job competency modeling to establish indicators, and employs an AHP-entropy weight coupling approach for objective weighting. An empirical study involving 118 undergraduate students was conducted to validate the model. Results showed high reliability (Cronbach’s α= 0.93) and good fit in confirmatory factor analysis. Significant improvements were observed in students’ comprehensive abilities (p < 0.01), along with increased employer satisfaction and reduced job adaptation periods. The model demonstrates strong applicability and effectiveness, providing a robust reference for evaluating practical courses in automotive engineering and related fields.
