- Abstract
In this work, the composites of Al2219 alloy are synthesized with increasing wt.% of silicon nitride particles by squeeze casting method. Al2219 composites with 12, 14, and 16 wt.% of silicon nitride reinforcement are studied for the impact on hardness and compressive strength. There is a considerable increase in the values of hardness and compressive strength observed due to the introduction of silicon nitride reinforcement as compared to the Al2219 matrix alloy.
