Abstract

Financial development is a multidimensional process that continues to evolve, because the financial system is constantly changing and constantly striving to improve digitalization. This study examines the influence of financial institution depth index on efficiency in Emerging Asian countries. This study uses panel data with secondary data from the 2000-2021 series. The analysis technique in this study uses panel data regression. This study shows that the Financial Institution Depth Index (FID) has a positive and significant influence on the Financial Institution Efficiency Index in Emerging Asian countries. Increased financial depth, which includes asset size, number of financial institutions, and product diversification, drives the operational efficiency of financial institutions. Countries with higher FID, such as Malaysia, are showing the positive impact of strategic policies, while Indonesia and the Philippines face challenges in improving the efficiency of financial institutions. Overall, the study emphasizes the importance of strengthening financial depth as a key factor in improving efficiency and sustainable economic growth in Emerging Asia.
