- Abstract
Taking Jiangsu Gaokao from 2021 to 2024 as an example, this study aims to analyze the changes in the English reading comprehension tests from the perspective of subject literacy under the Gaokao Assessment Framework and the new course standard. We examined the reading comprehension tests of English Gaokao based on subject literacy in the Gaokao Assessment Framework and the New Course Standard, and found that attention to subject literacy fluctuates in different indicators of this concept. In general, information acquisition, research and exploration, and scientific thinking are more important in subject literacy. The study deepens the understanding of the implementation of the high school English evaluation system. The study provides guidance for English teaching in secondary schools, helping teachers optimize their teaching methods and adjust their teaching focus. The study helps students prepare for the examination more effectively.
