- Abstract
The development of the digital economy provides new opportunities for rural revitalization in China. Based on provincial panel data from 2012 to 2022, this study empirically examines the impact of the digital economy on rural revitalization. The results show that: first, the digital economy significantly promotes rural revitalization, and this conclusion remains robust after conducting robustness tests; second, the mechanism analysis indicates that the digital economy further promotes rural revitalization by driving industrial upgrading and improving governance efficiency. This study provides new evidence on how the digital economy fosters rural revitalization and offers theoretical insights for leveraging the opportunities presented by digital economy development to advance rural revitalization.
