Abstract: The principles of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) have become important benchmarks for global sustainable development. For emerging economies such as Kazakhstan, the role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in achieving these goals is particularly significant. Nevertheless, SMEs face a number of barriers that make it difficult to realise the SDG principles. The article analyses the main barriers - lack of finance, low awareness and lack of government support. It also suggests solutions, including automation of processes, improvement of educational programmes and creation of incentive mechanisms.
