- Abstract
The comparative study of science and technology innovation (STI) capacity is of great practical significance for understanding the development mode of sub-provincial cities. By constructing the index system of STI capacity from five dimensions, the entropy value method is used to quantitatively analyze the STI capacity of 15 sub-provincial cities between 2014 and 2022. It is found that, firstly, the spatial distribution of STI capability shows a trend of high in the south and low in the north, and the gap between the north and the south is gradually increasing. Secondly, the sub-provincial cities generally have different degrees of deficiencies in the two dimensions of science and technology investment support and innovation technology transformation. Finally, according to the distribution of radar maps of sub-provincial cities, it is proposed to increase science and technology investment, optimize infrastructure, accelerate the transformation of achievements and other enhancement paths to comprehensively improve STI capacity in order to promote the balanced development of cities.
