- Abstract
One of the most important industries, agriculture primarily serves as a source of food and contributes to national income. However, given its potential negative effects on the agriculture industry, the rise in food imports is the result of insufficient efforts to increase food production, notably in creating prosperous agropreneurs. It is crucial to research the competency necessary for successful agropreneurs. The purpose of this study is to examine how strategic competency affects the success of agricultural businesses and the roles of social media usage as mediating. The variables for this study consist of strategic competency, business success and social media usage. A total of 96 respondents aged between 18–40 years old participated in the survey using purposive sampling technique among agropreneurs in Peninsular Malaysia. The data collected via questionnaires and Structural equation modelling via Smart PLS was used to analyse the data. The study revealed that out of four hypotheses developed, two was significant, and there was no mediating effect of social media usage on the relationship reported.
