- Abstract
The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has brought a monumental change in the very essence of healthcare by offering path-breaking innovative solutions for medical diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance. However, safeguarding the personal autonomy of people associated within the wide spectrum of the Internet of Medical Things persists as the most intrinsic and sacrosanct objective and obligation of the service providers. Furthermore, the need to preserve personal autonomy in the context of IoMT involves the need to safeguard the right to individual privacy in the virtual world. This article tries to examine and explore the relevance and risks associated with the right to privacy and confidentiality in IoMT. It highlights the subjective aspect of the right to privacy and personal autonomy.
