The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED), proudly convened the 7th Annual Conference of Engineering and Implementation on Vocational Education (ACEIVE 2025) on 11th November 2025 in a hybrid format, enabling broad participation both onsite at the VIP Room of the UNIMED Digital Library, Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia, and through online sessions. ACEIVE 2025 adopted the theme “Reimagining Engineering Education for the Digital Era, Industry 5.0, and a Sustainable Future,” reflecting the urgent need to align engineering and vocational education with rapid digital transformation, human–machine collaboration, and sustainability imperatives.

ACEIVE 2025 was designed as an international forum for rigorous interdisciplinary dialogue among academics, practitioners, and industry stakeholders. The conference emphasized strategic approaches to transforming engineering education in response to Industry 5.0, including curriculum renewal, the integration of emerging technologies (such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and automation), and the strengthening of academia–industry partnerships. In parallel, the conference promoted engineering education agendas that contribute meaningfully to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by foregrounding resource efficiency, energy management, responsible innovation, and broader socio-environmental considerations.

The scientific programme addressed a wide range of themes, including technology and vocational education; assessment and evaluation technology; learning innovation; engineering and software engineering; architecture; science and education; hospitality and tourism; management of vocational education and training; and ICT in education. We were honoured to host keynote contributions from Prof. Dr. Syawal Gultom, M.Pd.; Prof. Adhi Kusumastuti, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tee Tze Kiong; Prof. Tosawat Seetawan; and Prof. Maher Yahya Salloom, whose perspectives enriched the discourse and strengthened international collaboration.

This proceedings volume compiles selected peer-reviewed papers presented at ACEIVE 2025. Collectively, the contributions demonstrate contemporary advances in engineering and vocational education and provide actionable insights to support educational innovation and sustainable development in the digital era and Industry 5.0.

The Organizing Committee extends sincere appreciation to all authors, reviewers, speakers, and participants for their scholarly commitment and valuable contributions. We also acknowledge the institutional support of the Faculty of Engineering and Universitas Negeri Medan. It is our hope that ACEIVE 2025 will stimulate sustained research, collaboration, and impactful innovation across engineering, technology, and vocational education.
