Abstract

Objective: To find a suitable visual language for the information content presented in the current city garbage classification in China, to help the public learn and remember the operation of garbage classification. Methods: Through research on the current situation of at home and abroad, the focus of information transmission was analyzed. Through questionnaire surveys, the pain points of current classification information were pointed out. Then, the graphic innovative design of garbage information was explored, and simulation experiments were conducted to demonstrate that the introduction of information visualization design can attract public attention to garbage classification. Innovative strategies for the visualization of garbage classification information were summarized. Conclusion: The feasibility of information visualization design in the operation of city garbage classification was demonstrated. It reduces the difficulty for the public to passively receive classification information, moderately solves problems such as slow cognition, difficult operation, and confusing symbols, and plays a guiding role of “classification as learning, memory promotes classification”, promoting the public to voluntarily complete environmental protection actions.
