2025 4th International Conference on Art Design and Digital Technology (ADDT 2025) was held in the culturally vibrant city of Zhengzhou, China, from June 13 to 15, 2025. As the digital and intelligent transformation reshapes creative paradigms worldwide, this conference convened leading scholars, designers, artists, and technologists to interrogate the evolving nexus of tradition, innovation, and computational possibility. ADDT 2025 served as a crucible for transdisciplinary dialogues, challenging participants to redefine artistic heritage through digital lenses while envisioning sustainable, human-centered futures.

The intellectual foundation of ADDT 2025 was cemented by four visionary keynote addresses. Professor Weiquan Xi (Henan University) ignited critical reflection on preserving Central Plains’ artistic legacy in “The Debate on the Inheritance of Central Plains Art and Culture in the Context of the Digital Intelligence Era,” urging a balance between algorithmic mediation and cultural authenticity. Professor Lei Dong (China National Academy of Painting) then articulated the socio-political resonance of “The Value and Expression of Contemporary Thematic Art Creation,” framing art as a catalyst for collective memory. Professor Zongming Liu (Shaanxi University of Science & Technology) reconceptualized design pedagogy through Silk Road synergies in “Design Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education for Silk Road Culture,” advocating for culturally embedded innovation frameworks. Finally, Professor Stefano Follesa (Università degli Studi di Firenze) transcended anthropocentric design paradigms with “A.A. After Artificial: Design scenarios between natural and artificial,” proposing hybrid ecosystems where AI co-evolves with organic creativity.

Complementing these keynotes, four invited speeches further diversified the discourse. Professor Xinwei Song (Tsinghua University) reimagined urban habitation in “Design of Human Settlement Environment for the Future,” emphasizing biophilic resilience amid climate uncertainty. Professor Xinghua Zhang (Zhengzhou University) explored gamified cultural engagement in “Video Games and Museums: Building a New Paradigm for Museum Cultural Communication in Virtual Space,” demonstrating immersive storytelling’s power to democratize heritage. Professor Lei Wang (Zhejiang Normal University) detailed pedagogical innovation in “Exploration and Practice of the Master’s Degree Creation Talent Cultivation Model for Fine Arts and Design Majors Based on the Six Principles of Comprehensive Materials Art,” advocating tactile-material intelligence as counterweight to digital abstraction. Closing this segment, Dr. Sharma Ashutosh (HUST) decoded urban futures via “Latest Trends and Innovations in Artificial Intelligence in Smart Cities,” critically assessing ethical AI deployment for equitable urban metabolisms.

Across three intensive days, ADDT 2025 fostered dynamic exchanges through its meticulously curated agenda. Following the opening ceremony’s contextual framing, the keynote speeches established conceptual anchors for deeper exploration. Concurrent oral presentation sessions showcased peer-reviewed research papers, while the poster session amplified emerging scholarship through tactile-visual dialogues. The conference culminated in an awards ceremony celebrating exemplary contributions, notably those bridging technical rigor with cultural sensitivity.

This volume stands as a testament to collective intellectual labor. We extend profound appreciation to: our visionary keynote and invited speakers, whose provocations guided our debates; The authors and researchers whose rigorous contributions populate these proceedings: the international Program Committee for their discerning peer reviews; the organizing team for flawless logistics; and every attendee whose curiosity fueled this knowledge ecosystem.

As algorithms increasingly mediate human expression, ADDT 2025 reaffirmed that technology’s highest purpose is to deepen cultural consciousness. The papers herein interrogate digitality’s potential to resurrect ancestral wisdom, democratize creativity, and nurture ecological solidarity. May these sparks ignite further transdisciplinary collaborations.
