- Abstract
This study adopts Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic theory as a novel perspective for the IP design of Yu Opera troupes. The focus is on utilizing the triadic model of semiotics to systematically analyze the cultural symbols of Yu Opera troupes. The proposed system for creative design includes “symbol extraction and transformation, product remodeling and expression, and user communication and feedback,” establishing a creative model for IP design in Yu Opera troupes. The source culture is systematically explored by interpreting the symbolic relationships within Yu Opera troupes across three dimensions: iconographic symbols, indexical symbols, and symbolic signs. Additionally, the KANO model is applied to decode user demands, prioritize design elements, and develop design encoding for Yu Opera troupe IPs. The feasibility of this model is validated, providing a viable approach for the development and innovation of intangible cultural heritage.
