Abstract

Population growth and infrastructure development of a region directly affect the increase in the number of daily trips of the community. Darul Imarah Subdistrict, as the area with the highest number of people in Aceh Besar Regency, shows an increase in mobility in line with the expansion of settlements and socio-economic activities. This condition poses challenges in the management of the transportation system, especially in understanding the pattern of the revival of community movements. This study aims to analyze the impact of travel behavior factors and socio-economic factors on the trip generation in Darul Imarah Subdistrict. Data were collected through the distribution of Revealed Preference-based questionnaires conducted in person and online, with a total sample of 450 respondents from a population of 58,494 people. The study variables consist of a dependent variable, represented by the number of daily trips, and independent variables, which include travel behavior and socio-economic factors. The collected data were processed through the stages of editing, coding, preparation of master tables in Excel, and statistical analysis using multiple linear regression with SPSS software. The results of the study show that travel time to destination and frequency of transportation use, as factors of travel behavior, as well as gender, age, occupation type, household size, and monthly income, as socio-economic factors, are proven to have a significant effect on the number of daily trips generated by the community in Darul Imarah Subdistrict, Aceh Besar Regency.
