Abstract

Improving the quality of education depends heavily on the quality of human resources, namely, teachers. This begins with universities actively instilling an entrepreneurial spirit through edupreneurship courses. This study aims to examine the relationship between entrepreneurial characteristics and students’ innovation skills. This research method is quantitative, namely, student perceptions are tested using a comparative approach. The research sample is students currently studying at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire. This study uses two assessment scales: an entrepreneurship scale and an innovation scale. Data analysis of this study uses simple linear regression. Based on the data analysis, a significant correlation was found between entrepreneurial characteristics and students’ innovation skills. A significance value of 0.000 indicates a correlation (sig. (2-tailed) <0.05). There is a positive relationship between entrepreneurial skills and innovation skills. The higher the entrepreneurial skills, the higher the innovation skills, and vice versa. The results of this study are expected to contribute to educational policies that better support the development of an entrepreneurial spirit and innovation in prospective teachers.
