- Abstract
This paper aims to enhance understanding of intergovernmental relations in public policy implementation by mapping the relevant literature, knowing the practice in several countries, and recognizing opportunities for future research. This research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines. According to literature mapping and analysis, research on intergovernmental relations still needs to be developed. Empirically, various studies on intergovernmental relations in developed and developing countries have shown the success and failure of implementing public policies. This paper presents an understanding of the development of existing research related to intergovernmental relations from 2005 to 2024 and highlights its role in public policy implementation in various countries worldwide.
