- Abstract
As sustainability becomes a critical priority for higher education institutions (HEIs), there is a growing need for advanced, data-driven approaches to assess and improve sustainability performance. This paper analyzes the potential of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into existing sustainability frameworks, specifically the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. Using secondary data and literature review, the study explores how AI-driven analytics can enhance data collection, accuracy, real-time monitoring, and decision-making in sustainability management within HEIs. A conceptual framework for AI integration is proposed, using Universitas Brawijaya as a case study context to illustrate possible system development. The findings highlight the opportunities and challenges of applying AI technologies in sustainability metrics, offering insights for future research and practical implementation in the higher education sector.
