Abstract
Background

Good Distribution Practices (GDP) are essential for maintaining the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products throughout the distribution chain. However, levels of compliance among pharmaceutical wholesalers (PBFs) in Indonesia vary considerably. Objectives: This review aims to evaluate the implementation of GDP across various Indonesian regions and identify key factors influencing compliance. Methods: A systematic review was conducted by the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Literature was sourced from Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and Europe PMC for articles published in Indonesian between 2017 and 2025. Inclusion criteria comprised original research evaluating GDP implementation in PBFs; review articles and inaccessible full texts were excluded. Results: Ten studies were included. Compliance with GDP standards showed significant regional variation. High compliance rates were observed in Batam, Tasikmalaya, and Jambi, at 99%, whereas Bandung and Jakarta had notably low rates of 5%. Common challenges included deficiencies in infrastructure, quality management, and personnel training. Regions with regular training and robust quality systems demonstrated better adherence. Conclusion: The implementation of GDP among Indonesian pharmaceutical wholesalers remains inconsistent, with substantial disparities across regions. Targeted interventions to strengthen infrastructure, documentation, and human resource development are necessary to enhance compliance and ensure safe pharmaceutical distribution nationwide.
