It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 6th International Conference on Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, and Biomedical Engineering (BioMIC 2025), held on 30–31 July 2025 at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. To facilitate broader international participation, the symposium was conducted in a hybrid format, combining in-person sessions with virtual access via the Zoom platform. This event was proudly organized under the auspices of the Directorate of Research, Universitas Gadjah Mada.

BioMIC 2025 received 391 submissions from 19 countries. Following a rigorous peer-review process, 32 high-quality papers were selected for presentation and publication in this proceedings volume. The selected papers reflect the increasingly dynamic and interdisciplinary nature of current research in bioinformatics, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, and health sciences. In particular, the contributions in this volume address a wide range of timely and impactful themes, including digital health transformation, telepharmacy, e-prescribing, artificial intelligence and machine learning in healthcare, public health data governance, drug utilization and medication safety, pharmaceutical care and service quality, clinical decision support, epidemiological modeling, health informatics, biomolecular analysis, drug discovery, repurposing, and evidence-based clinical practice. These topics demonstrate not only the breadth of scientific inquiry represented in BioMIC 2025, but also the growing importance of integrating computational, biological, and clinical perspectives to address contemporary challenges in healthcare.

In this regard, the publication of these proceedings in the Atlantis Press Advances in Health Science Research (AHSR) series is especially meaningful. AHSR provides a reputable platform for the dissemination of research that responds to contemporary challenges in health sciences while encouraging collaboration across biomedical, clinical, and technological domains. The inclusion of BioMIC 2025 papers in this series underscores the conference’s role as an important forum for emerging ideas, rigorous inquiry, and applied research that contribute to the advancement of health science innovation in Indonesia and beyond.

We extend our profound gratitude to all authors for their invaluable contributions, and to the keynote and invited speakers—Prof. Dr. David J. Manton (University of Groningen, Netherlands), Takuji Yamada, Ph.D. (Institute of Science Tokyo, Japan), Prof. Dr. Waranyoo Phoolcharoen (Chulalongkorn University, Thailand), Trung Quang Vo, Ph.D., B.Sc.Pharm. (Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Vietnam), Dr.rer.nat. Ronny Martien (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia), and Prof. Dr. Mustofa, Apt., M.Kes. (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia)—for their insightful presentations and generous sharing of expertise. We also express our sincere appreciation to the scientific committee for their meticulous oversight of the peer-review process and to the organizing committee for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment in ensuring the smooth execution of the symposium.

It is our earnest hope that this proceedings volume will serve as both a valuable record of the latest scientific and technological advancements presented at BioMIC 2025 and a catalyst for future research, innovation, and international collaboration. May BioMIC 2025 mark an important milestone in your scholarly and professional journey, and may the ideas shared here continue to inspire progress across the health, biomedical, and life sciences.

Sincerely,

Valentina Dwi Suci Handayani
Chair of the Organizing Committee
