Abstract

Port construction sites face persistent safety challenges due to complex environments, frequent cross-operations, and high labor mobility. Unsafe worker behaviors are a major cause of accidents. This paper provides a systematic review of research progress in this domain. Methods for behavior identification have evolved from traditional questionnaires and on-site observations to intelligent detection and real-time early warning systems based on artificial intelligence, computer vision, and the Internet of Things. Mechanism-oriented studies, drawing on evolutionary game theory and system dynamics, have elucidated how risk perception, mental accounting, and group effects drive behavioral evolution. Meanwhile, supervision strategies, supported by digital twin technologies, BIM/GIS integration, and VR/AR applications, are advancing toward more proactive and precise management. The core finding of this review lies in highlighting the pivotal role of psychological and group-interaction factors in behavioral evolution, as well as the potential of multi-technology integration to enhance regulatory effectiveness. Future research should focus on the development of multimodal intelligent systems, deeper exploration of behavioral mechanisms, and the cultivation of human-machine collaborative safety culture to build a more resilient safety management framework for port construction.
