Abstract

Cinema is a form of art that is in constant harmony with nature and humanity. Throughout all periods, filmmakers have conveyed the world around them, both natural and unnatural processes occurring within it, and topics of concern to humanity through their cinematic works. In both documentary and feature films, themes such as ecology, global environmental processes, and wildlife have been extensively highlighted, playing a significant role as a means of mass communication. Numerous examples of world cinema reflect the impact of humans on nature, the rapid pace of technological development, and the negative effects of this progress on the environment. Likewise, feature films have also devoted considerable attention to the themes of globalization and environmental pollution. Many outstanding examples of world cinema draw the audience’s attention to these themes. Azerbaijani filmmakers have not remained indifferent to these issues, addressing natural phenomena occurring both globally and in Azerbaijan, thus enhancing the role of art in influencing ecological processes. This problem, predominantly addressed in documentary films, has also found some representation, albeit to a lesser extent, in feature films. This article will explore this topic and examine examples from Azerbaijani feature cinema.
