Abstract

Currently, digital media art, as a major part of modern communication media, has a significant impact on the interdisciplinary development of China (such as design, art, journalism and communication, and computer science). Current research on digital media art suffers from unclear development positioning and a lack of clear research focus. Therefore, this study explores the research trends and analyzes research hotspots in digital media art to better contribute to its further development and sustainability. This study employs quantitative analysis methods, using CiteSpace 6. 4 R1 literature visualization analysis software to conduct a visualization analysis of digital media art literature data from the Web of Science (WOS)from 2016 to 2025. The analysis reveals that keyword clustering results indicate a shift from digital media to COVID-19 and social anxiety; and time trend analysis shows that from 2015 to 2020, the focus shifted from digital media to cross-cultural understanding and understanding its context; from 2020 to 2025, influenced by the pandemic, the impact gradually shifted to real-world issues. Therefore, digital media is crucial for the future development of digital media art. Nations should seize the opportunities presented by the booming development of digital media, governments should advocate for its harmonious and orderly development.
