Analysis of Design Requirements for Guochao Lacquer Line Carving Products Targeting Generation Z Based on the KANO Model

- Abstract
With the rise of Guochao consumption, the modern translation design of intangible cultural heritage has encountered significant opportunities. As a traditional handicraft from Southern Fujian, the existing forms of carved lacquer thread products show a notable gap with the emotional and personalized demands of Generation Z, the main consumer force. This study analyzes consumer demands by constructing a demand indicator system encompassing four dimensions—cultural identity, aesthetics, emotional experience, function, and value—and applying the KANO model and Better-Worse coefficient analysis. The research indicates that cost-effectiveness is a basic demand; attractive demands such as positive emotional incentives, authenticity of craftsmanship, trendiness in color matching, and interactive experience constitute the core advantages for product differentiation; while the innovativeness of patterns is an expected demand, serving as a key factor in enhancing user satisfaction. The study proposes corresponding design strategies to provide references for the design of Guochao products featuring carved lacquer threads.
