Abstract

As a national intangible cultural heritage, Yue Kiln celadon currently faces significant constraints in traditional museum exhibition practices, characterized by an overemphasis on artifacts, insufficient narrative construction, and limited visitor engagement. Such limitations make it difficult to meet the digital-era expectations of younger audiences, who increasingly seek immersive and interactive cultural experiences. Drawing on new museology and digital-empowerment theories, this study constructs an integrated analytical framework of the “intangible-heritage value chain—museum narrative reconstruction—digital toolbox.” Based on a survey of 310 visitors, the empirical findings reveal key demands in narrative presentation, interactivity, and digital-technology integration. Accordingly, the study proposes a systemic innovation pathway encompassing thematic narrative redesign, immersive technological enhancement, and a cultural-creative social-interaction loop. The aim is to offer both theoretical insights and practical strategies for the dynamic transmission of Yue Kiln celadon and for strengthening Cixi’s branding as the “City of Secret-Color Porcelain.”
