Abstract

The article utilizes Chaomei Chen et al. team’s quantitative and visualization analysis software CiteSpace to statistically survey and mine the literatures about “Scene Theory” under the Web of Science databases and CNKI databases during the past decade and a half, aiming to make an overall historical record on the development of scene theory, grasping the core topics of scenes theory’s researches, and exploring the direction of its future development. Accordingly, both domestic and international scholarly exploration activity of the scene theory keeps steady increase through the help of visual analytics. What’s worthy to note is that starting from 2017, Chinese scholars have shown stronger features of explosive increment and exponential expansion. In research contents, foreign researches focus more on macro-issues of culture and city such as creative industries, urban revitalization, social groups and governance arrangements, with a trend toward the discussion of micro-level social practices. The domestic research focusing on topics including urban planning, local construction, spatial design and on-site. Domestic research related to scenes are mainly located at studies of the standpoints of the creative class, cultural industry, cultural production and culture consumption. In recent years and future, the main trends of scene theory are systematization of constructing paths, extension of research fields in depth and comprehensive correlation to countryside revitalization projects, cultural-tourism combined projects, and culture creative projects.
