- Abstract
With the global gaming industry experiencing rapid growth, user experience (UX) optimization has become a key factor in achieving commercial success. As competition intensifies, developers are realizing that superior UX design significantly impacts player retention and engagement. While previous research has primarily focused on graphical quality and technical performance, this study shifts attention to the crucial yet often overlooked domain of interaction design—specifically, the influence of intuitive interfaces and responsive systems on player satisfaction. Through a comprehensive methodology including literature review, heuristic evaluations of Genshin Impact, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Among Trees, and cross-regional testing, we identify three critical UX challenges: 1. Complex navigation structures that create unnecessary barriers for new players. 2. Inconsistent feedback mechanisms leading to frustration, especially among casual gamers. 3. Underutilized player analytics representing missed opportunities for personalization. These findings highlight the growing importance of player-centered design. By addressing these issues, developers can create more accessible experiences that appeal to broader audiences. In an industry where player expectations continue to rise, prioritizing thoughtful interaction design may become as vital to long-term success as technological advancement.
