The Efficacy Analysis of Ziziphus Jujuba-Mulberry-Chrysanthemum-Cassiae Semen Functional Beverage on Prevention of Diabetes and Eye Care

Abstract

Insulin secretion disorder is an important pathological basis for diabetes. This disease can further induce the formation of new retinal blood vessels, leading to diabetic retinopathy and causing serious harm to visual function. Current research have found that the main active ingredients flavonoids, polyphenols, polysaccharides, and terpenes in ziziphus jujuba, mulberry, chrysanthemum, and cassia semen have important functions in reducing insulin resistance, increasing insulin sensitivity and inhibiting new blood vessels. This can release the symptoms of hyperglycemia in diabetic patients, further prevent retinopathy, and have health care effects. This study uses ziziphus jujuba, mulberry, chrysanthemum, and cassia semen as raw materials, uses sensory scores as evaluation indicators, and optimizes the formula proportion of the existing ziziphus jujuba, mulberry, chrysanthemum, and cassia semen beverage through orthogonal experimental design and high-performance liquid chromatography analysis. By analyzing the active ingredients in the four raw materials, our study explores their efficacy in reducing blood sugar, preventing diabetes and retinopathy, as well as their action pathways and pathological mechanisms, and promotes the development and application of Ziziphus Jujuba-Mulberry-Chrysanthemum-Cassia Semen functional beverage in the field of health food.
