Abstract

As the immigrant population in the United States reaches a historic threshold, representing nearly 14% of the total citizenry, the nation faces an unprecedented challenge in reconciling national security with humanitarian obligations. This paper examines the current landscape of U.S. immigration, characterized by a surge in both legal and unauthorized arrivals and the resultant socio-economic pressures. By analyzing the restrictive measures of the Trump administration alongside the systemic discrimination faced by Asian and Latin American immigrants in labor and healthcare sectors, the study identifies a critical tension between restrictive border governance and the protection of fundamental human rights. Through a multi-perspective analysis, this study argues that sustainable immigration reform must transcend mere enforcement. It proposes a tripartite solution involving enhanced linguistic integration, rigorous regulation of illegal influxes, and the reinforcement of anti-discrimination legal frameworks to foster a balanced social environment that safeguards both the interests of native citizens and the dignity of the immigrant community.
