- Abstract
This study proposes a FrameNet-based methodology for teaching academic English vocabulary, employing frame semantics to facilitate the acquisition of domain-specific terminology. Focusing on high-frequency terms within the RESEARCH frame, we classify vocabulary according to cognitive elements such as Researcher, Topic, Problem, and Product. Through corpus analysis using COCA and annotation of authentic academic examples, the study illustrates how frame-structured semantic networks enhance systematic vocabulary learning. Results suggest that this approach improves terminological accuracy and contextual usage in academic writing, particularly benefiting non-native English speakers in disciplinary communication.
