Amidst the ever-deepening integration of technology, education, and human-centered services, the 2025 4th International Conference on Humanities, Wisdom Education and Service Management (HWESM 2025) was successfully held in Hangzhou, China, from March 21 to 23, 2025. The conference served as a vibrant platform for scholars, educators, researchers, and industry practitioners to explore cutting-edge topics at the intersection of humanities, intelligent education, and service innovation.

HWESM 2025 attracted over 100 participants from various countries and regions, significantly exceeding the number of paper submissions, which totaled 108. After a rigorous peer-review process conducted by the international program committee, 55 high-quality papers were accepted and included in this proceedings. The conference sessions were thoughtfully organized around a range of thematic areas, including wisdom education, digital humanities, educational psychology, public service, and smart learning technologies. These academic themes provided a rich foundation for in-depth discussions and fostered interdisciplinary dialogue among scholars, practitioners, and educators from diverse fields. The diversity of topics reflected the conference’s commit-ment to addressing contemporary challenges and innovations in humanities, education, and service management.

The conference was honored to feature a distinguished lineup of keynote speak-ers whose insights brought intellectual depth and practical value to HWESM 2025. Assoc. Prof. Jianfei Luo from Beijing Language and Culture University delivered a keynote on the acquisition of compressed sentences by Chinese as a second language learners, providing valuable perspectives on prosodic syntax and international Chinese education. Prof. Goh Hoe Lian, Dion from Nanyang Technological University (Sin-gapore) shared his extensive research on serious games and gamification, illustrating how game-based techniques can influence user behavior and support digital learning environments. Prof. Tajularipin Bin Sulaiman from Universiti Putra Malaysia explored the intersection of humanities, pedagogy, and cognitive development, emphasizing the importance of multidisciplinary approaches in fostering deeper learning and ethical reasoning. Assoc. Prof. Norhayati Binti Zakuan from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia presented a study on the mediating role of project risk management between the soft and hard skills of project managers, offering practical insights into enhancing construction project performance using the Balanced Scorecard theory. Collectively, these keynote addresses advanced the academic dialogue surrounding education, human development, and service management in the context of technological and social transformation.

The topics covered in this proceedings reflect the diverse and dynamic research directions of the conference, including but not limited to smart learning environments, wisdom-based curriculum design, cultural heritage preservation, digital humanities applications, educational data mining, and public service innovation. Collectively, these studies provide valuable insights into how humanities and technology converge to foster inclusive, intelligent, and responsive systems in education and service domains.
