- Abstract
When aircrafts operate in cold regions, electric heat tracing is usually used to heat the water system pipelines to avoid icing. Based on aircrafts operational scenarios, this article analyzed the enclosed and semi-open compartment environments and the heat loss laws of pipelines, determining the power of electric heat tracing. Using MATLAB PDE-tool, the temperature distributions of pipelines with electric heat tracing were solved. The results indicated that the power of electric heat tracing worked well to maintain the water temperature within the target temperature range, providing a theoretical basis for the anti-freezing design of aircraft water system pipelines.
