Abstract

To understand the vibration characteristics of the dam body during flood discharge in high arch dams, including the acceleration and amplitude at different parts of the dam, an online vibration monitoring system for flood discharge was designed based on the operational characteristics of a specific double-curvature arch dam. By monitoring key effect data in real-time during flood discharge, the dynamic characteristics and operational behavior of the dam body were analyzed. This analysis identified the parts of the dam most significantly affected by flood discharge vibrations, providing technical support for assessing the impact of these vibrations on hydraulic structures.
