Website: https://icaiml-ae-2026.vupune.ac.in/index.php The International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Agro-Ecosystems (ICAIML-AE 2026) was held on 2 July 2026 at Vishwakarma University, Pune, Maharashtra, India, in hybrid mode, enabling participation both in person and online. The conference was organized by Vishwakarma University, Pune, in collaboration with Binghamton University, Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science, New York, USA. It provided an international platform for researchers, academicians, industry professionals, practitioners, and students to present their work, exchange ideas, and engage in meaningful discussions on contemporary developments in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The primary aim of ICAIML-AE 2026 was to promote research, innovation, and practical applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in agro-ecosystems and allied interdisciplinary domains. The conference focused on areas such as precision agriculture, smart farming, intelligent sensing, sustainability, climate and environmental intelligence, data analytics, automation, and real-world deployment of intelligent technologies. It also encouraged broader discussion on emerging themes including cybersecurity, responsible and explainable AI, legal and regulatory considerations, and interdisciplinary applications of AI and ML. The technical programme comprised multiple tracks and special sessions covering a wide range of research themes. A total of 42 papers were scheduled across seven parallel technical sessions, of which 41 papers were presented. The contributions reflected the growing diversity of AI and ML research, spanning core computational methods, intelligent agro-ecosystems, smart farming, sustainability, climate intelligence, legal and regulatory frameworks, and emerging real-world applications. These proceedings represent the scholarly outcomes of the conference and reflect the collective efforts of researchers working across technological, agricultural, environmental, social, and policy-oriented domains. We hope that the ideas presented in this volume will not only contribute to current research but also provide direction for future work. In particular, there is a continuing need for AI and ML solutions that are robust, interpretable, responsible, scalable, resource-efficient, and practically deployable, while remaining sensitive to sustainability, ethics, data quality, accessibility, and real-world constraints. Looking ahead, meaningful progress in this area will require stronger interdisciplinary collaboration among computer scientists, agricultural researchers, domain experts, policymakers, industry professionals, and end users. Future research should increasingly focus on translating promising models and prototypes into reliable field-level solutions, strengthening validation in diverse agro-climatic conditions, improving data availability and interoperability, and ensuring that technological advances remain inclusive, trustworthy, and socially relevant. We sincerely thank all the authors, reviewers, session chairs, advisory and organizing committee members, faculty members, volunteers, delegates, and participants for their valuable contributions and support. The collaboration between Vishwakarma University, Pune, and Binghamton University, Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science, New York, USA, contributed significantly to the academic engagement and international character of ICAIML-AE 2026. We hope that these proceedings will serve as a useful reference for researchers, academicians, students, practitioners, industry professionals, and policymakers, and will encourage continued research, collaboration, and innovation toward intelligent, sustainable, responsible, and impactful technological solutions for agro-ecosystems and society at large.
