Abstract

This study explores the impact of governance quality on economic growth in developed and developing countries. Good governance, which includes democracy, political stability, government effectiveness, regulatory quality, rule of law, and control of corruption, plays a crucial role in creating a conducive environment for economic activities. Developed countries generally have strong governance systems that support stable economic growth. In contrast, developing countries often face challenges such as corruption, political instability, and poor regulation, which reduce investor confidence and subsequently hinder economic growth. This study employs the systematic literature review (SLR) method. The analysis results indicate that although the general consensus suggests a positive relationship, the link between governance and economic growth is not always linear and can be ambiguous. Therefore, governance should be viewed as a means to achieve economic growth rather than as an end goal. Comprehensive governance reforms in developing countries can create a more stable and transparent environment, enhance economic competitiveness and social welfare, and help achieve high-income.
