- Abstract
Metal matrix composites of aluminium boron carbide have remarkable applications in gas turbine blades, aerospace, marine, automobile, aviation etc. Manufacturing of aluminium composites has many techniques, stir casting is one of the economical and very simple processes. In this present work, Aluminium reinforced with Boron carbide has different weight percentages such as 10%, 15% and 20%. Stir casting is used to fabricate Al-B4C metal matrix composites and investigate mechanical properties such as hardness, compressive strength and impact strength.
