Abstract

Automatic wheelchairs are crafted to greatly improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. These sophisticated devices utilize cutting-edge hand gesture control technology, enabling users to makeover the wheelchair using simple and natural movements. This hands-free system simplifies operation and increases users’ ability to navigate their environment with greater freedom and precision. Furthermore, the wheelchair can transform into a cozy bed, meeting the needs of those who need both mobility assistance and a supportive sleeping area. This multifunctional design minimizes the need for multiple, often costly, pieces of equipment, providing convenience, comfort, and efficiency in one unit. The design emphasizes affordability, making sophisticated mobility solutions accessible to more people. To balancing technological and economic considerations, the project offers a solution that is both innovative and practical. This approach contributes its central goal is to improve the independence and overall quality of life for individuals with disabilities, fostering a more inclusive community. Advanced image processing technology allows the system to interpret gestures, environmental changes, and specific commands, enabling precise control over the wheelchair’s movement and its transformation. This technology facilitates effortless transitions between wheelchair and bed modes, providing users with an enhanced level of autonomy and convenience. In wheelchair mode, users benefit from a responsive and adaptable mobility aid that adjusts to their needs based on visual feedback.
