Abstract

Currently we are in a digital era that continues to develop so fast, so social media has changed the way people access and disseminate information and it has made social media one of the main tools to disseminate information and has also developed into a very influential part of the instrument in digital governance practices, which can influence public opinion. Over the past five years, it has been proven that social media plays an important role in various digital governance, especially in the context of politics, health, and also social issues. This study presents a literature review that examines the role of social media in disseminating information and shaping public opinion. The review identifies several key trends, including the increasing use of social media in political campaigns, the dissemination of information related to the global health crisis, and some regulatory challenges arising from the spread of misinformation. In addition, the study highlights gaps in existing studies, particularly in understanding the long-term impact of social media use on public trust and digital governance.
