- Abstract
This study aims to explore the impact of Gojek’s GoGreener program on the company’s legitimacy in Makassar. Using qualitative analysis methods through surveys and in-depth interviews, data were collected from the community and Gojek drivers. The findings indicate that the GoGreener program successfully established pragmatic legitimacy by providing direct benefits to the community and committing to reducing carbon footprints. However, there is skepticism regarding the intentions behind the initiative, suggesting challenges in building moral legitimacy. Public perceptions are divided between expectations for transparency and the recognition that social responsibility is a norm that large companies should adopt. To strengthen its legitimacy in the future, Gojek needs to enhance consistency and transparency in the implementation of its CSR programs.
