- Abstract
Indonesia frequently experiences earthquakes, particularly in Jakarta. Due to high seismic risk, ensuring the earthquake resistance of existing buildings is crucial. Indonesia currently lacks national guidelines for seismic evaluation of existing structures, resulting in reliance on ASCE/SEI 41–17. This study evaluates a 35-year-old office building in Jakarta using the Tier 1 ASCE 41–17 method. The evaluation applies BSE-2E performance with basic configuration and structural collapse prevention checklists. Several elements were found to be Non-Compliant, highlighting the need for further evaluation, retrofitting, and development of local policy frameworks.
