Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of non-formal music learning practices post-pandemic in private lessons and the transformation of music learning practices through private lessons in Manado. The method used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach. The results of the study indicate that, first, post-pandemic music learning in Manado is predominantly conducted through individual and group music practices facilitated by private lessons. The increase in the number of people interested in private lessons is supported by several factors, such as flexible scheduling, teaching materials tailored to the needs of each student, student ability, comfort and privacy, and a more intensive learning experience. Second, the transformation process occurs through an independently developed curriculum by each instructor, providing opportunities for students to initiate songs they want to learn. The use of digital tools as a learning medium in music education and the utilization of social media platforms offer new opportunities to facilitate wider access and a variety of teaching methods tailored to student needs.
