- Abstract
The objectives of this study are: (a) to describe the Dayak De’sa tribe; (b) to analyze the philosophy of life of the Dayak De’sa tribe; (c) to describe the Dayak De’sa tribe in the digital era. The research location was in 3 (three) villages in three sub-districts where the Dayak De’sa tribe lives (Kelam Permai, Kayan Hilir, and Sungai Tebelian Districts). The research was conducted using qualitative methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study found: first, the The mythically of Dayak De’sa tribe believes they call themselves descendants of divine and human beings (Ara and Iri); second, the philosophy (jalai idup) of the Dayak De’sa tribe comes from the life cycle in the Panjai House; third, the Dayak De’sa tribe calls successful humans “idup bereti”, and “idup merinsak” (difficult life); fourth, the Dayak De’sa community in the digital era. Based on the findings above, the proposals to the Dayak De’sa Tribe are: (1) a self-perception based on a strong ethnic identity is needed; (2) tribal members strengthen the legacy of the philosophy of life in the new generation; (3) the Dayak De’sa Tribe needs to revitalize itself in the digital era.
