- Abstract
The environmental damage caused by human greed in exploiting nature beyond its limits has sparked a common call to protect our planet. Concern for nature transcends generations, so it is important to promote eco-intergenerational friendships between the younger and older generations. This paper aims to raise awareness of the importance of intergenerational friendship in taking care of our ecology. The result shows that the haminjon tree is used as a metaphor for the importance of living in diversity and togetherness, which forms the basis for building intergenerational relationships to care for the planet. The philosophy of haminjon lies in the context that haminjon could grow well amongst other different types of trees. It implies the urgent need for eco-intergenerational friendship with nature to nurture and save our environment. In order to prevent the destruction of nature, it is essential to establish eco-intergenerational friendship with the principle of conscious participation in the mission of preserving nature.
