- Abstract
Road safety is one of the major concerns of this century, as a lot of injuries occur due to the non -compliance of wearing helmets while riding motorcycles. In response to this, we have decided to design and complete an AI Powered Safety System that attempts to do two things at the same time. This system achieves better road safety by making sure riders begin to wear helmets routinely. The system uses an ESP32-CAM module that does not allow the rider to turn on the motorcycle without first determining if a helmet has been put on. The system takes three attempts, whereby if the rider does not comply, buzzer and LED go of signaling the rider to comply. In the instance that the rider refuses to comply, the system will partially turn on the motorcycle. Although allowing the rider to use san emergency motorcycle, the system ensures that the rider cannot go further than specified distance. This technique combines AI-based Image Classification and Embedded electronics technology aimed to eliminate severe non-compliance to wearing helmets, reduce the chances of accidents, and improve overall safety riding standards at compensated cost.
