- Abstract
The traditional methods used by herbal medicine stakeholders to discover therapeutic plants have significant limitations. Herb collectors often depend on subjective and inconsistent knowledge passed down through generations, and researchers have a hard time cataloging and studying medicinal plant species because of the time and effort required for manual identification. To address these issues, the Medicinal Plant Identification project has trained a ResNet50 model and developed a Flask web interface that allows users to input photos of medicinal plants and receive accurate recommendations.
