Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of motivation and training on nurse performance with job satisfaction as an intervening variable in one of the private hospitals in Medan City. This study is motivated by the importance of nurse performance in supporting the quality of health services, where motivation and training factors are seen as important elements that influence nurse satisfaction and work results. The method used is a quantitative approach with a survey technique, and data were collected through a questionnaire sample of 78 nurses as both the population and sample (saturated sampling). Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression tests and path analysis with the help of SPSS. The results showed that job training did not significantly influence job performance and satisfaction, while motivation significantly influenced both performance and job satisfaction. Motivation through job satisfaction was proven to have a significant effect on performance. Meanwhile, job training through job satisfaction did not significantly influence performance. And job satisfaction has a significant influence on employee performance. These findings are expected to be a consideration for hospital management in developing a more effective and sustainable human resource development strategy.
